On June 18 in Goethe-institut Sofia, DA LAB foundation organizes the seminar "Art * Science * Collaboration", related to the foundation's mission to develop digital arts in Bulgaria and support young Bulgarian artists. One of the aims of the seminar is to acquaint Bulgarian artists with successful practices of collaboration with scientists and experts in developing interdisciplinary creative content, while at the same time connecting them to the international scene. The seminar focuses on contemporary interdisciplinary practices in the collaboration between art and science.
The one-day seminar provides opportunities to meet representatives of the international cultural scene and institutions from Europe, with the aim of building a professional network, sharing successful practices and promoting partnerships for future cooperations. The workshop not only facilitates networking, but also features presentations by guest curators, as well as a showcase of local and international artists engaged in interdisciplinary work. These presentations are intended to introduce artists in leading art-science programs and existing artist-in-residence programs. In addition, the seminar is dedicated to building a new Eastern European art and science network, culminating in a round table discussion to explore innovative ideas, foster connections and strengthen the regional ecosystem for collaboration.
The guests of the seminar are the Austrian curator and researcher Dr. Claudia Schnugg, as well as the curator Andrei Tudose from Romania, co-founder of the organization Marginal, as well as leading institutions from Europe working in the field of cooperation between art and science, such as the Schloss Academy Solitude - Germany, presented by Sophie-Charlotte Thieroff, Schmiede Media Festival - Austria, presented by Rüdiger Wassibauer and Marius Schebella (Subnet), University of Salzburg - Antoni Ryzhekov, Ukrainian Media Art Festival TETRAMATYKA - presented by Dr. Ostap Manulyak, MADLab - Cyprus presented by Dr. Marinos Koutsomichalis and others.
