Anxiety: Signals of an Uncertain World
Anxiety is the pulse of contemporaneity – an omnipresent undercurrent that shapes the way we perceive, connect, and create. We are witnessing heightened uncertainty – wars unfolding across continents, economies teetering on collapse, political systems destabilized and the digital sphere amplifies every tremor of crisis. Anxiety is no longer just a personal experience; it is a shared, global condition, a signal transmitted across borders, screens and thoughts.
Digital media reflect anxiety not only as an emotional state but also as a lens through which we navigate contemporary realities. From glitch aesthetics that embody technological fragility, through VR environments simulating states of unease, to AI-generated images, immersive installations, interactive data visualizations, and speculative digital narratives, the works presented at DA Fest challenge audiences to confront discomfort, embrace uncertainty, and find meaning in digital chaos. By making the intangible tangible, the artists transform anxiety from an invisible burden into an experience to be shared, questioned, and ultimately understood.
What does it mean to be anxious in a hyperconnected world, and how can digital art change our relationship with this pervasive force? Can technology offer spaces of resistance or new solidarity? How can we challenge audiences to confront, decode, and rethink digital architectures of fear?
As we go through turbulence, DA Fest both reflects and questions our times – offering moments of confrontation, contemplation, and perhaps even resilience in the face of the unknown.
