The work transforms the image of Bismuth crystal into maps. Observing the complex structure of crystal, the object invents non-existent schemes, just as a person is inclined to find familiar structures in images of various objects. Over the past decades, many researchers of complex systems and urbanists have drawn parallels between how clusters of certain crystals and large cities grow. While these processes often do follow similar algorithms, the navigator is more of a fantasy machine, creating fictional visual schemes and using a crystal for inspiration.
